Chris Rokosh is a trailblazing nurse entrepreneur who, after 25 years working in healthcare, decided to change things.
Many nurses simply accept that things are the way they are in healthcare, but Chris Rokosh doesn’t. She believes that not only can we do better, we want to do better. We just don’t always know how.
Chris’s 40 year nursing career included everything from working as an emergency flight nurse to providing home care to HIV stricken patients. As a certified perinatal nurse, she has been present for the birth of nearly 10,000 beautiful babies. She has seen all of the good and all of the bad that healthcare has to offer. Then, her work as a Legal Nurse Consultant showed her, for the first time, how bad outcomes in healthcare affected the lives of patients. She also realized that nurses were making some of the same mistakes over and over again. One day, she decided to change things by creating an entirely new industry that bridged the healthcare knowledge gap.
Chris became Canada’s first Legal Nurse Consultant and built a business based on the belief that accurate, unbiased, scientifically based medical knowledge can positively impact healthcare, law, industry and individual lives. Her recent book ‘Shift. Change. Empowering Nurses with Medical Legal Knowledge’ does just that. Chris has provided expert opinion on over 300 medical malpractice cases and trained some of the top medical legal experts in North America. Her company, Connect Medical Legal Experts now consults on hundreds of lawsuits on any given day, and works with major companies like Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Bard.

Rick Rokosh Vice President/ COO
Rick Rokosh is the VP and COO of Connect Medical Legal Experts.
He has been instrumental in the growth and foundational structures of Connect Experts. He has managed the Administrative roles for the past five years, as well as spearheading the Marketing team.
Rick is a seasoned entrepreneur primarily as an IT consultant with technology startups in Canada and the U.S. and large utility and oil and gas companies in Canada. His participation in the Entrepreneur Organization program has provided networking and business operations skills critical for a growing company.
As a project manager, Rick was responsible for numerous computer infrastructure upgrades primarily in the oil and gas sector. This discipline has been especially beneficial in Connect Experts Class Action Services, where large volumes of claimants and their corresponding medical records require structure, process and experienced project management.
Chantel Josiak RN BScN CCHN(c) LNC Senior Consultant - Experts Lead
Chantel joined Connect Experts in 2018 and leads the Nurse Expert location service.
Chantel completed her Bachelor of Nursing with Distinction in 2008 at Mount Royal College/Athabasca University.
Her nursing experience is concentrated in Public Health with a focus on empowering families and communities to achieve their health goals. She collaborates with allied health professionals (e.g. Dietician) to ensure continuity of care. Chantel was a Clinical Nurse Educator in the faculty of the University of Calgary where she facilitated student learning of nursing principles, skills and concepts with a particular focus on community and public health. She also has experience with hematology patients dealing with infection control and pain management, and has many classes/studies which enhance her healthcare knowledge.
Chantel is a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College and Association of Registered Nurses in Alberta and has completed Connect Expert’s ‘Introduction to Legal Nurse Consulting’ course.
Erin Vasicek - Executive Assistant
Erin Vasicek is the Medical Administrative Specialist / Executive Assistant for all areas of Connect Experts.
Erin is a graduate from the Laboratory and X-ray Technology program at NAIT and joined us in 2012. Her early years saw her running a satellite lab for Associated Clinical Pathologists and soon after continued with Canadian Blood Services with various medical administrative positions. She joined Alberta Health Services in 2001 and worked within the Hemophilia/Hematology Clinic and continued with a position in the Ophthalmology clinic. Erin has come to us from a private Dermatology clinic, where she was Clinic Co-ordinator/Manager.
Erin's excellent demeanor and organization skills are instrumental when dealing with legal clients, healthcare institutions, specifically for medical record retrieval and clients who use Connect Experts Class Action Service for claim preparation/submission. She is our front line person at most of our educational conferences and enjoys seeing the difference Connect Experts is making bringing healthcare and law together.
