President/CEO - Chris Rokosh
Chris Rokosh is the founder and President of Connect Medical Legal Experts Inc. She is a Certified Perinatal Nurse and Legal Nurse Consultant with 34 years of nursing experience, most of which was spent working on Labor and Delivery Units.
Chris has personally provided support/opinion in over 300 cases as an expert witness specializing in birth cases. This experience and knowledge has enabled Chris to be an excellent resource for litigators, and for healthcare professionals - either in their clinical practice or as expert witnesses. Chris is an invited lecturer at universities and healthcare and law conferences across the country. Recent presentations include the Canadian Bar Association Health Law Section, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, the US and Canadian Associations of Neonatal, Women's Health and Perinatal Nurses and the US and Canadian Associations of Legal Nurse Consultants. She is published in many healthcare and legal periodicals. Chris built her company on the belief that legal knowledge can improve healthcare outcomes and that medical knowledge can improve legal outcomes. With this in mind, she is passionate about her work and a tireless educator of medical/legal issues to doctors, nurses, lawyers and the public. In 2010, Chris was listed as one of Canada's top 100 entrepreneurs and this year, has been nominated for a Royal Bank Women of Influence award.
Chris is on the executive of the Kindness Experiment, a member of the Alberta Women's Entrepreneur group, the Women's President Organization and UnitedSuccess as well as the Canadian and Alberta Nursing Associations.
Vice President/ COO - Rick Rokosh
Rick Rokosh is the VP and COO of Connect Experts.
He has been instrumental in the growth and foundational structures of Connect Experts. He has managed the Administrative roles for the past five years, as well as spearheading the Marketing function.
Rick is a seasoned entrepreneur primarily as an IT consultant with technology startups in Canada and the U.S. and large utility and oil and gas companies in Canada. His participation in the Entrepreneur Organization program has provided networking and business operations skills critical for a growing company.
As a project manager, Rick was responsible for numerous computer infrastructure upgrades primarily in the oil and gas sector. This discipline has been especially beneficial in Connect Experts Class Action Services where large volumes of claimants and their corresponding medical records require structure, process and experienced project management.
Senior Consultant – LNC locator/mentor/educator – Rosemarie Enokson RN BScN
Rosemarie Enokson is the prime contact for Nurse Experts and Case Merit for Connect Experts.
Rosemarie Enokson graduated from the University of Alberta in 1984 with a BScN with Distinction. Her background includes Neurosurgery, Medicine, ICU, flight nursing and Emergency. For 14 years Rosemarie was a clinical educator in the emergency developing staff orientation and advanced competency programs, policies and procedures. She has also been involved with quality assurance reviews within the hospital setting. Rosemarie continues to work in the emergency department as a staff nurse and coordinates and teaches the Trauma Nurse Core Course and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Since 2007 she has been a Senior Consultant with Connect Experts providing medical/legal education to health care professionals and nursing expertise to lawyers involved in medical malpractice. Rosemarie has personally reviewed numerous medical/legal matters and mentored/reviewed hundreds more. Rosemarie is a contributing author to the "Introduction to Legal Nurse Consulting" and "Legal Issues in Nursing" courses. She has spoken at numerous nursing and allied health conferences regarding medical-legal matters. Rosemarie loves to teach and is a strong advocate for patient safety and best practices in nursing.
Consultant – Expert Witness locator – Carly Dyck RN BScN ENC(c)
Carly is the newest addition to the Connect Experts team and will be working on Expert Witness location/provision/support.
Carly Dyck graduated from the University of Calgary in 2002 with a Bachelor of Nursing with Distinction. Her background includes neurosurgery and Emergency Nursing. Carly has worked in Emergency Departments in Toronto, Boston and Calgary, and continues to practice as a staff nurse at the Peter Lougheed Center in Calgary. She has spent time as a Clinical Nurse Educator, and has implemented orientation programs for new graduates in the ER. Carly has been nationally certified in Emergency Nursing since 2005. She has worked as a Legal Nurse Consultant since 2014 providing expert opinion in Emergency Room cases.
Carly is passionate about patient safety and promoting quality within healthcare.
Senior Consultant - Cost Of Future Care Lead - Linda Simmons RN BScN
Linda joined Connect Experts in 2016 and leads the Nurse Life Care Planner/Cost of Future Care team.
Linda received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Laurentian University in 2003 after her Nursing Diploma from Durham College in 1984. Linda completed the University of Florida's Life Care Planning Certification in 2010. She also has certificates in International Interdisciplinary Wound Care and Evaluating Health Promotion.
Her 32 year nursing career includes years as in the acute care setting, including surgical units, emergency and hemodialysis. She has been employed as a Clinical Educator and Public Health Nurse and full time in a Life Care Planner role providing Cost of Future Care reports in Personal Injury cases. Linda's most recent position was as an Acting Resident Care Coordinator for a Long Term Care Facility.
She is a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, The Canadian Nurses Associations and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
Medical Administrative Specialist – Erin Vasicek
Erin Vasicek is the Medical Administrative Specialist for all areas of Connect Experts.
Erin is a graduate from the Laboratory and X-ray Technology program at NAIT. Her early years saw her running a satellite lab for Associated Clinical Pathologists and soon after continued with Canadian Blood Services with various medical administrative positions. She joined Alberta Health Services in 2001 and worked within the Hemophilia/Hematology Clinic and continued with a position in the Ophthalmology Clinic. Erin has come to us from a private Dermatology clinic, where she was Clinic Co-ordinator/Manager.
Erin's excellent demeanor and organization skills are instrumental when dealing with legal clients, healthcare institutions (for medical record retrieval) and clients who use Connect Experts Class Action Service for claim preparation/submission.
